DBcare

Automatically patch database vulnerabilities while your databases are live and running — no waiting for a maintenance window.

DBcare makes continuous database updates a reality.

DBcare keeps your applications running while your database backend is updated, enhancing database performance, reliability, security and compliance. DBcare is not simply a reduction in complexity or a simplification of processes, it’s a complete redefinition of how data security operations are executed, which eliminates waiting for maintenance windows.

How DBcare works

  1. Servers running the database connect to DBcare ePortal (your secure copy of DBcare patch repository).
  2. When a vulnerability is present on the database, the agent talks to the ePortal.
  3. ePortal pulls the updates from the DBcare main patch server through your firewall, keeping the infrastructure isolated from the outside world.
  4. DBcare agent momentarily freezes the processes in a ‘safe’ mode.
  5. DBcare applies the patch in memory. It all happens transparently to apps and users connected to the database and to the database itself.

Wait, what if we have already implemented highly available database servers?

Our take on this – you shouldn’t rely on high availability for maintenance. But if you do, DBcare helps with High Availability as you do not need to bring down any nodes just to deploy patches. There’s no need to migrate workloads or experience reduced service levels during the process.

Redefine Data SecOps – remove maintenance operations from the equation.
